I just saw A Hard Day’s Night by the Beatles this past Friday.  It’s a quality film.  British humor at its finest, or at it’s extreme, at least.  It’s interesting to think that it’s quite probably that no band will ever again achieve what the Beatles did…ever.  They are absolutely one of a kind.  It’s kind of depressing that music is not what it was back then.  I’ve got nothing to brag about music wise from our generation.  I wonder if it’s just human nature to look longingly at the past and to feel that it was so much better back then.  I wouldn’t have minded living the the 60s, being part of the hippie movement and riding around in the bus with the Merry Pranksters.  Then again, the hippies weren’t really any better than the emos of today.  I wonder if my kids are going to be wishing that they could have been an emo.  God, I hope not…

haha please don’t produce any emo-wannabe’s lol. I think it’s human nature to look at the past. Maybe not a lot of kids our age think so, but I’ve often thought how wonderful it would be to grow up in simpler, but still technological, times. To dress up in cute dresses, laugh at clean humor and have less worries for my future and the future of my children. Oh wait, then there are the stories that relate from generation to generation of rebels, of degradation, of dwindling of morals and work ethic. I always change the radio in the paint room to the oldies when I paint with oil. Today a Beatles song came on and Therien said, offhandedly, “man they had retarded music back then.” Sometimes he says things just to say them. I was like, “Are you kidding? I was raised on the Beatles.” Things don’t change. Generation to generation, genre to genre.
